PortFounded in 1756, the Real Companhia Velha, the oldest of the Port Houses, is known in the UK as the Royal Oporto Wine Company, with whom the Society of Vintners has traded for some 20 years. Owning 5 Quintas in the Upper Douro, the company also has stocks of 35 million litres in its Port cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. Once each year a dedicated shipment is made for the group not only of Royal Oporto's own Vintage wines, but also Late Bottled Vintage, Tawny (superb 20 year old Tawny) and White Ports.
